June 4 - 26th 2010 - Subway Gallery in London will host TEENAGE BEDROOM, an installation by renowned New York rock photographer Bob Gruen.
Subway Gallery has invited Gruen to present an exhibit he first produced in 2007 for his solo exhibition “Rockers” at the FAAP University Museum in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Several versions of TEENAGE BEDROOM have been exhibited since, including an installation consisting of a 20 foot long photo collage shown at New York's Museum of Modern Art in the summer of 2009, which ran for six months.
The installation consists of a room with the walls covered in pages and covers of magazines and posters, all featuring Gruen's rock photos, depicting a typical bedroom decor of teenage rock fans around the world. This exhibit will also include a video and photos from the famed downtown New York hangout Max's Kansas City, photos from CBGB and a selection of Gruen's classic rock photos.

Photo Exhibition - 'Who Shot Rock & Roll'
Worcester Art Museum, Worcester, MA - March 5 - May 30, 2010
An extensive exhibition exploring the genre of Rock Photography 'Who Shot Rock & Roll' features over 100 photographers who pioneered the genre of Rock & Roll photography. The large exhibition was curated by Gail Buckland who also wrote the text for the catalog book of the exhibit. The exhibition will also be on view at the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, Memphis, TN - July 2, 2010 - Sept. 26, 2010; the Akron Art Museum, Akron; OH - Oct. 29 2010 - Jan 23, 2011 and the Columbia Museum of Art, Columbia, SC - Feb 24, 2011 - May 22, 2011

June 10 to Nov. 30th 2009- An exhibition at MoMA called "Looking at Music - Side2" explored the creative exchange between musicians and artists in New York City in the 1970's and 1980's. On display were Photography, Music, Video and Publications including the work of Jean-Michel Basquiat, Blondie, Richard Hell, Sonic Youth and Patti Smith, among others.
For this exhibition, legendary rock photographer Bob Gruen created an installation of magazine spreads and covers and posters titled "A Rock and Roll Teenager's Bedroom Wall" The installation was 7.5' by 22.5'. On a monitor next to the wall was a video titled "New York Death Cult", made by Bob Gruen of bands playing at Max's Kansas City in 1976 (Jayne County, Robert Gordon, Blondie, Patti Smith, Johnny Thunders and Richard Hell).
