Jan 7 - NYC - Robert Gordon and Chris Spedding started the year with a show at B.B . King's Club in Times Square. Robert has one of the strongest voices and with Chris backing him he's at his best.
Jan 8 - NYC - Yoko Ono congratulates my wife, Elizabeth Gregory-Gruen at the opening of Elizabeth's multi-layer cut paper art show, in Chelsea. Yoko liked the piece behind them so much that she acquired it for her collection.
Jan 8 - NYC - Debbie Harry played a short set at the party after the opening of an exhibition in honor of the late designer Steven Sprouse. The exhibition was sponsored by Louis Vuitton.
Jan 13 - NYC - Debbie was joined by (from left) Sprouse model Terry Toy, Marc Jacobs and DJ Johnny Dynell at the party celebrating the release of a Rizzoli book about Steven Sprouse by Roger Padilha and Mauricio Padilha.
Jan 9 - NYC - Film Director Able Ferrer read from an interview with the late poet, Herbert Hunke, at a tribute to Hunke held at the Bowery Electric.
Patti Smith entertained the audience at the Herbert Hunke tribute with stories of how she first met him, and then sang a song for the fans.
Jan 15 - NYC - Suzanne Vega appeared at the new club, City Winery with old friend and producer Lenny Kaye.
Feb 1 - NYC - Yoko Ono presents an award of recognition to La Monte Young at an event at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. La Monte Young is an avant garde musician who was a big inspiration for composer John Cale, and many others.
Feb 4 - NYC - The Sex Slaves played songs from their new CD at the Studio club in Webster Hall.
Feb 28 - NYC - Steven Van Zandt wishes Giorgio Gomelski a very happy 75th birthday. Giorgio entertained the crowd at his loft with stories of his early days, discovering and managing the Rolling Stones. He also demonstrated how he sang backup on one of the Yardbirds hit songs.
Feb 5 - NYC - Walter Lore had a big smile while waiting to go on stage with his band "the Waldos" at Don Hill's Club.
And Cheeta Chrome was in a good mood as well at Don Hill's as he got ready to open the show.
Feb 14 - NY - What a great way to spend Valentine's Day - with Ronnie Spector, in the Catskills, at the Bearsville Theater! She is developing a new show about her life in songs and spoken word.
After the show Ronnie's husband Jonathan joined me and my Valentine, Elizabeth, for a photo with Ronnie.
March 7 - NYC - Keith Richard's daughters Alexandra and Theodora. were the DJ's at the party to open an exhibition of Beatles and Rolling Stones photos by their '60's U.S. Tour Manager Bob Bonis at the Not Fade Away Gallery in New York.

March 4 - NYC - Marky Ramone was all smiles at the party for his designs for the new Rock Scene line produced by Tommy Hilfiger at the Hilfiger store in Soho.
Marky posed in his bus with his band before going in to play at the Rock Scene party.
March 13 - NYC - The Flower Travellin' Band came to New York to play at the Knitting Factory as part of their first tour in 35 years. The band features my long time friend, singer Joe Yamanaka (center).
March 17 - NYC - Timo Ellis performed with 'Netherlands' while lit by the light of film projections. They sound like a cross between Kiss and Miles Davis in the 'Bitches Brew' period.
Feb 19 - NYC - Semi Precious Weapons played a secret show at the Bowery Electric. Singer Justin Tranter keeps the action going at a very hectic pace.
March 31 - NYC - Jimmy Fallon was a surprise guest singer in the show put on by Mark Ronson at the party for Top Shop at Balthazar restaurant.
March 30 - NYC - Green Day finished their new album 'Twenty First Century Breakdown' in New York, and immediately went into a studio to start making new songs. I stayed up with them till 7:30 am and had a great time watching them work.
March 31 - NYC - Green Day at Electric Lady Studio after hearing the final version of '21st Century Breakdown' for the first time.
March 30 - NYC - The Hold Steady brought their show to The Fillmore New York at Irving Plaza for a night of great fun.
April 14 - St. Paul, MN - I went to St. Paul to give a talk at the Fitzgerald Theater to benefit the Minnesota Public Radio, and I was interviewed by top DJ Mary Lucia.
April 16 - NYC - Tommy and Jimmy Wynbrandt have finally gotten the Miamis' wonderful music on a CD. 35 years in the making, it's finally available! The Miamis were a favorite band on the NY scene in the '70's.
April 20 - NYC - Lily Allen was sold out at Roseland and just keeps on getting better with her punky, cheeky style.
April 21 - NYC - The Food Bank is one of the great charities in New York, feeding 250,000 to 300,000 people every day in the city. At the benefit dinner this year Bono, ex-President Bill Clinton, Jon Bon Jovi and his wife; Mario Batali, and Rachael Ray were there.

April 24 - NYC - Mandy Stein greeted Debbie Harry at the Tribeca Film Festival opening of Mandy's movie, "Burning Down the House", about CBGB.
At the Bowery Electric after-party for the film, CBGB family members Louise Parnassa, Lisa Crystal, Arturo Vega and BG celebrated.
